Instructional Program Lesson on Beanstack

 Hello Everyone,

It has been a while since I last spoke to everyone. I would say this assignment was a bit challenging to create especially when it came to placing the IASL standards for teacher librarians.  However, this is a lesson plan that I do hope to introduce next school year.  I want to be able to use Beanstack as a platform to promote reading and provide incentives while also working as a school community to reach a reading goal.

When I first started thinking about this process was how this lesson plan could be turned into a brief introduction, while also teaching students to be able to use the platform on their own. I also noticed while completing this assignment that K-2nd-grade students might struggle more with how to log in to the platform and will rely heavily on parents and teachers to log in their reading. In thinking this way, I realized that my audience cannot just be students but also parents and teachers.

The easiest part of this design process and lesson plan will be using the platform itself.  Everyone in the audience will be able to access this platform, and will be able to practice from home or during the school day.  It will also allow me as the librarian to help parents, teachers and students in how to log their reading if need be.

The easiest way to engage learners in this lesson is by letting them know that incentives are provided in completing this lesson and if the platform is readily used during the school years more incentives will be acquired, specifically in reaching our reading community goal.  Overall, I really enjoyed this assignment and I hope to be able to use this lesson for the next school year.
